Keeping your teens safe online

Netlingo.com is a good source for parents to go and see what the words their teens are using on the web mean. Such as p911 is parents in room.

Part of protecting our youth is learning what they are saying to others. Many of us parents don’t get the lingo. The site above will help you.

Another good one is netnanny.com  you can purchase software that allows you to see what your teen is doing on the web, whether on computer or cell. You can set the program with places on web that are or are not allowed.

You can also set it to contact you immediately if let’s say your child types in words you set. Such as sex, breasts, nude.. Ect
Its a very neat program.

Another thing we do is have a sheet of our kids accounts they have online with their user names and passwords.

Another site you may want to take a look at safeteens.com

Be open with your teen about online safety. Tell them your concerns.

Thanks for stopping by…
