Amish Barn Stars History

Amish Barn Stars History

I’ve always Wondered about “Barn Stars” I finally found enough time to look them up. Personally I’ve gone through phases with thinking about them. In Utah I was creeped out by them. I’ve seen them in Ca and wondered. I’ve seen them in the store. Thought about purchasing one. And have left the store knowing I didn’t need one. Not ever sure of what my problem was with them. Just knowing they weren’t what they appeared.

Most people claim they represent good fortune, good luck. But truly they do not. Look them up for yourself. There is a lot of history online about them. Witches and pagans see it as a  charm or talisman (A talisman is an object which is believed to contain certain magical or sacramental properties which would provide good luck for the possessor or possibly offer protection from evil or harm.[1]) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talisman

Some people go as far as to say the Amish Barn star is not a blessing, its a curse. You’ve marked you home for supernatural entities to find you.

Here is a post I found about changes in the star and colors and what they stand for.

Well anyway, think what you will about Amish Barn Stars. But I personally will not place on  my home. It was interesting to research and see what people think of the Stars and to see the true meaning of them. I have included a few links for further reading if this interests you. There is much out on the web about this subject. And of course you can always go to the library.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy!

Home sweet Home!

We made it. The move was successful. Havent found anything damaged yet. There is still much to unpack..

Wedsnesday we had A/c vents and ducting cleaned and sterilized for our asthma sufferers, dryer vent cleaned, chimney sweep out.

Yesterday we celebrated our first holiday in our new HOME. The beginning of new memories, and traditions. This is an exciting time.

The kitchen far exceeded my expectations. They said it was state of art. Well let me tell you. I LOVED my experience in it yesterday. Everything cooked to perfection, tons of counter space. Next Thanksgiving it will have double ovens. That will make it even better!

The family is very happy and comfortable here. We made the right choice when we put in an offer on this home. More to come later.. I must get back to unpacking. The boys start school in 3 days.

Today we are enjoying the first rain since we have lived here.

We continue to listen.. Oct 15, 2013

We thought we had found THE home. You know the best one for us. We put in an offer. Then the waiting game started.. Tick tock, tick tock…

A week had passed. Our realtor had been in contact with their agent all seemed ok. We were highest bidder.

Now let me tell you a bit about the home. It was a 3 bedroom plus retreat/office attached to master bedroom. Large lot. House sat back on property so rear yard was small which is what we wanted as our kids are high school age now. It had a 3 car garage. Aka room for a work shop in 3rd garage. A nice kitchen with gas appliances. It was awesome.

But. We got the call.. You know, the one that says they took someone else’s offer. Then shortly after that home was withdrawn totally from market..

Its not the one God intended us to have. So on the hunt we go. Looking forward to the gem God wants us to cherish.

And thankful he is guiding and protecting us on this journey.

And with that we will listen- Relocation update

This whole relocating thing has been very trying. Many hurdles have turned into doors closing in our face. At every turn just when you think you’ve got it figured out another door closes.

Many trips to Arizona and only one problem solved. Arizona won’t take our CA license to get an Arizona license. They also won’t take our abstract birth certs CA gave out. And you need a Arizona address to get a license in Arizona.

Hubby’s new possible employer  (Inter Dealer transfer)  won’t make an offer in writing till hubby gets Arizona license and is living In Arizona. We can’t buy a home in Arizona till we can prove he’s employed in the state. Starting to see our problem??

We were starting to get very discouraged. But kept moving through the hurdles. With the help of our awesome friends that live in Arizona. (You know who you are!)

Well this week a HUGE door opened. My hubby was called into his bosses office and offered  to be the Shop Foreman to stay in Ca. This puts us in a different financial group. And allows us to buy a home in the state.

I want to say to God we are sorry we weren’t listening to all the signs. We can be slow and stubborn at times. But I HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR NOW GOD!

I will follow the path you have set before us. Thank you God for making it very clear for us. #Blessed

Potty pad success AT LAST

Well there is no grass in Temecula near the dog friendly hotel we are staying at. That’s a big problem for a pup that won’t go potty on dirt or concrete.
We were told to take her to potty area. We did. She was like um NO! Its dirty!
image

So off to Petco to buy attractant to spray on her potty patch we went.

We got a cute toy of course. A cactus which is perfect as we have made our final decision. We will be looking to buy in Arizona. We have searched all areas of CA where we can afford to buy. Haven’t found the perfect homes with the wants we have. Arizona the homes come the way we want and property tax is miniscule compared to over inflated, over crowded CA.

Summer fun on the weekend

We had a great and slightly weird weekend.

It started with going to the Aquarium of the Pacific. The boys and I have been there a few times. My hubby had never been.

We had an awesome time there. We then went home and made reservations to stay in a cabin at a camp ground. This is where it got weird.

We arrived Sunday after looking at some open houses in that area. My camera kept screwing up. Wouldn’t video tape a certain home. Hubbys camera battery died in that home even though it was fully charged when we left our house 2 hours before.

Both videos I tried to take have weird clicking and then shut off. I tried to tape whole house. I never shut off video. Camera kept doing it.

We had a great lunch at Benny’s

image

While in city we also looked at the old mill. People claim its haunted by a 16-18 Year old girl. All looked good to me. Its an abandoned building.

Its old town section is adorable.

Well then off to camp ground and a scared to death pup as soon as we entered the cabin.

image

Pup wouldn’t let my son set her down. She was shaking and shivering violently. As soon as hubby got there I told him something on here she’s scared of. He turned place upside down.
We found rodent droppings. We got in car and drove home! Thank God my pup has a good nose.

So our mini vacation went wacko. But we’re not going to die from some rodent virus. And for that I’m greatful. We set out for an adventure. We got one!

Maybe it was the super moon that created the weirdness.

Monday found us at ShoreLine Village, The Korean friendship bell and a picnic lunch.
